Mwiba Holdings Limited is a registered Tanzanian company under the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212). It is a hospitality company with operations in Arusha, Meatu, Maswa in the Simiyu Region, and the Mara Region.
The company is seeking a qualified and experienced Backhoe and Compactor Operator to join its team. The successful candidate will be based at Mwiba-Maswa and may be required to rotate to other company properties.
2. Key Duties and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Safely and efficiently operate backhoe loaders and compactors for excavation, trenching, loading, grading, road construction, maintenance, and earthmoving activities.
- Carry out excavation for pipelines, drainage systems, foundations, and other construction works.
- Compact soil, gravel, murram, and other materials to the required standards.
- Conduct daily pre-operation equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical faults, hydraulic leaks, and other equipment defects.
- Follow equipment operating procedures, site safety standards, and environmental requirements, particularly when working on slopes, uneven terrain, and near other machinery.
- Ensure accurate excavation, grading, and compaction while minimising material wastage, equipment damage, and impacts on existing infrastructure.
- Coordinate effectively with site supervisors, workshop teams, and other equipment operators to ensure projects are completed smoothly and on time.
3. Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery, preferably in construction, roadwork, or site development.
- A valid driver’s licence.
- Relevant equipment operating certification.
- Basic mechanical knowledge is an added advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with GPS or automated equipment systems is an added advantage.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently while complying with site safety and environmental standards.
