Basic purpose

To manage end-to-end card operations, ensuring efficient card issuance, lifecycle management, system reliability, and high-quality customer service while maintaining compliance with card scheme and regulatory requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Oversee the full card lifecycle including issuance, activation, renewal, replacement, blocking, and closure processes, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
  2. Ensure all card requests are processed within defined SLAs, minimizing delays and enhancing customer experience.
  3. Monitor card system performance and availability, ensuring minimal downtime and prompt resolution of system issues in collaboration with IT.
  4. Investigate and resolve card-related issues including failed transactions, declined transactions, and customer complaints.
  5. Ensure compliance with card scheme regulations (Visa/Mastercard), internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
  6. Monitor card transaction performance, identifying trends, anomalies, and potential fraud indicators.
  7. Drive implementation of digital card solutions, including instant issuance and virtual cards, to enhance customer convenience.
  8. Maintain accurate records, logs, and audit trails for all card operations activities.
  9. Collaborate with Risk and Fraud teams to strengthen controls and reduce card-related risks.
  10. Identify process gaps and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce errors.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Banking or related field.

2. Senior Officer – Reconciliation

Basic purpose

To ensure timely, accurate, and complete reconciliation of all bank accounts and transactions, minimizing financial exposure and ensuring integrity of financial records.

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Perform end-to-end reconciliation of all bank accounts including General Ledger, Nostro, ATM, POS, Mobile, and other digital channels.
  2. Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks promptly, ensuring discrepancies are cleared within defined timelines.
  3. Monitor aging of outstanding items and ensure timely escalation and resolution of longoutstanding balances.
  4. Maintain accurate reconciliation records, audit trails, and supporting documentation to ensure full audit and regulatory compliance.
  5. Ensure completeness and accuracy of financial postings across all systems through continuous reconciliation checks.
  6. Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Operations teams to resolve reconciliation issues and system mismatches.
  7. Monitor reconciliation performance metrics and provide regular reports on outstanding items and resolution status.
  8. Identify recurring reconciliation issues and implement process improvements to eliminate root causes.
  9. Drive automation of reconciliation processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  10. Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and regulatory requirements governing reconciliation activities.

3. Credit Analyst

General information

Job level: Senior Officer
Reports to: Manager Credit Risk Underwriting

Key responsibilities

  • As part of the credit committee of the Bank, participate in the review of creditworthiness and risks associated with potential business transactions with appropriate tools and models, with a view to providing mitigants to identified risks.
  • Analyze financial and non-financial data for proposed credit to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money to segments/businesses, full assessment of liquidity, profitability, and credit histories of customers.
  • Work closely with the Credit Quality Assurance Unit to proactively identify problem accounts and make timely recommendations to senior management for remedial action.
  • Support the loan remediation team in negotiating work out plans and strategies for delinquent customers.
  • Responsible for full Review of All credit Applications received from Business units and recommend to HOCC/EXCO for Approval.
  • Supervise, provide appropriate guidance, and mentor Credit Mangers at Branches to ensure onboarding of good and quality business and adherence to all Bank policy and procedures including compliance with KYC.
  • Preparation of Monthly activity Report for Credit Underwriting Unit and present at HOCC.
  • Credit Risk assessment review and evaluation on various credit application submitted from Business Unit.
  • Ensure adherence to approval procedures and credit standards as outlined in the bank’s lending manual, maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.
  • Assessment of Client Business for appropriate Cash flow assessment, Loan structuring and required amount proposition.
  • Ensure all credit policy exceptions are appropriately escalated and authorized by the relevant senior approving authorities.
  • Deliver a high level of internal customer service, emphasizing accuracy, responsiveness, and efficiency in line to agreed TAT.
  • To monitor all aspects of the Bank’s Credit risk management process and ensure that they follow the approved governance.and escalate exceptions with recommendations to senior management for appropriate action.
  • Provide Training and consultation to lending officers at Branch and Head office level.
  • Ensure growth of a quality loan portfolio.
  • Undertake all such other roles and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Immediate Supervisor from time to time.

4. Senior Officer – Chargebacks Operations

To manage the end-to-end chargeback and dispute resolution process, ensuring timely handling, regulatory compliance, and minimization of financial losses while enhancing fraud detection and prevention controls.

Main duties and responsibilities

  1. Manage the full lifecycle of chargebacks from initiation to resolution, ensuring all cases are processed accurately and within scheme-defined timelines.
  2. Conduct detailed investigations into disputed transactions by analyzing transaction data, customer behavior, merchant evidence, and system logs to determine validity.
  3. Engage with card schemes (Visa, Mastercard), merchants, acquiring banks, and internal stakeholders to resolve disputes efficiently and within prescribed timelines.
  4. Ensure strict compliance with card scheme rules, documentation requirements, and regulatory guidelines to avoid penalties and financial exposure.
  5. Track and monitor chargeback volumes, trends, and financial impact, providing regular reports and insights to management.
  6. Identify root causes of chargebacks, including fraud, operational gaps, or system weaknesses, and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
  7. Collaborate with Fraud, Risk, and Card Operations teams to strengthen controls and reduce chargeback ratios.
  8. Maintain proper documentation, audit trails, and case records to ensure full audit and regulatory compliance.
  9. Continuously review and improve chargeback processes to enhance efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and improve customer experience.
  10. Support implementation of fraud prevention tools and monitoring mechanisms to proactively reduce dispute volumes.
