HR Officer – Payroll Job Vacancy at Hotel Urban by CityBlue, Dar es Salaam September 2026

Hotel Urban by CityBlue is looking for a qualified and detail-oriented HR Officer – Payroll to join the team in Dar es Salaam. The successful candidate will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, maintain accurate employee records, and assist with general human resources operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Payroll Processing: Accurately prepare, process, and reconcile monthly payroll on schedule.
• Statutory Compliance: Handle all tax and statutory deductions, ensuring timely filing and full regulatory compliance.
• Attendance & Time Tracking: Monitor employee attendance, leave balances, overtime calculations, and payroll adjustments.
• Record Management: Maintain updated, confidential employee personnel files and payroll records.
• Reporting & Analysis: Prepare monthly payroll reports, audit figures, and resolve accounting/payroll discrepancies.
• Employee Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for staff inquiries regarding pay, benefits, and deductions.
• General HR Support: Assist the broader HR department with administrative tasks and onboarding activities as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience with a strong background in payroll administration.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and hands-on experience with modern HR/payroll software systems.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Sound understanding of Tanzanian labor laws, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.
• Core Skills: Strong numerical, analytical, and organizational capabilities with strict attention to detail and confidential data integrity.
• Soft Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to perform well under deadline pressure.
